ERROR 0xc000005

If i may ask...

Have you ever tried to launch an application on your PC only to encounter

 "the application couldn't start" together with an error code "0xc000005"on your 

windows PC? 

I’ve seen this happen to some people and ofcourse I was also a victim.

One morning, i launched mozilla firefox to surf the net, only to encounter the error ,

oh snap!"-that was me, after which i picked up my smartphone and scoured the 

internet for sometime (about 30mins or so), looking for a solution to no avail. What 

did you do, you ask? I just UN-installed the program - mozilla firefox - severally and re-

installed, hoping it would fix the problem but unfortunately it didn't.

HOW I FIXED IT...

I had been using M.S.E. - microsoft security essentials - for sometime

before formatting my PC, and for some reason i didn't re-install it - the last time - 

after formatting. I decided it was time to re-install M.S.E. after which i updated the 

virus definitions and did a full scan on my PC.

Just like i thought, i had a virus infestation, cos i noticed my PC was acting strange. 

I was surprised when the Firefox browser refused to launch after using it the previous 

night.

After the scan was done and the viruses removed, i re-installed my Firefox browser, 

and launched it... No more error code "0xc000005" till date.

Microsoft security essentials is available for download at the microsoft website.

If you don't know the direct link, you can google it and make sure to download the 

one specific for your PC, whether 32bits or 64bits. If you still don't know how many 

bits your windows OS is, you can check it up in Control panel under the system and 

security section.
