How to change WINRAR language

WHAT IS WINRAR???

A Little background info

WINRAR is a powerful file archiver utility - developed by Eugene Roshal of

WINRAR Gmbh - with which you can compress, encrypt, backup and

package files in archives -RAR or ZIP file formats - and also unpack

numerous archive file formats.

It was first released in 1995 - on the 22nd of March to be exact - and

written in C++, It supports these archive formats - RAR, ZIP, CAB, ARJ,

LZH, ACE, TAR, GZip, UUE, ISO, BZIP2, Z and 7-Zip – only to name a

few and it isn’t only available for windows, but Linux and Mac OS as well.

 I’ve seen a lot of people have issues with WINRAR such as installing and getting a 

foreign language - a result of not downloading the WINRAR installer from 

rarlab.com/download.html - and as such don't know how to go about changing the 

language in WINRAR to English/their default language.

steps to change WINRAR language

In this tutorial, I'm going to give a walk-through on how to go about it. After installing 

WINRAR and getting some other language apart from English/your preffered 

language close the application - if it was open - and follow the instructions below.

NB: This tutorial is for windows users.

STEP1: DOUBLE CLICK YOUR DRIVE C: AND LOCATE PROGRAM FILES 

(NOT PROGRAM FILES (x86))

STEP2: IN PROGRAM FILES LOCATE WINRAR FOLDER AND 

DOUBLE-CLICK TO OPEN

STEP3: SEARCH FOR winrar.lng AND DELETE IT 

Now you’re done. Launch winrar and enjoy the English version/your preferred 

language.
